Salary: £22,059 to £24,240

X6 Permanent, Part Time (9 hours per week) position

The advertised salary is for full time work, the salary for part time will be calculated on a pro-rata basis the part time salary is £5,514.75 to £6,060

Enfield Youth Development Service is located within the Children and Families division part of Youth People, Community Safety and Early Help. We work with young people age 11-19, (and up to 25 with young people with disabilities and learning difficulties). The key aim of our work is to provide personal and social development opportunities to children and young people to help them to transition to adulthood and achieve the best outcomes, whilst promoting good citizenship.

We have 6 exciting roles for individuals who want to make a real difference to the lives of young people. The roles will initiate, develop, and deliver high quality targeted youth work engagement that provides personal and social development opportunities for identified young people e.g. young people who are NEET, displaying poor behaviour and exclusions from school. As part of the contextual safeguarding approach youth worker will use a variety of youth work methods to positively engage young people such as detached and outreach youth work, mentoring, advocacy, provision of information, advice and guidance, one to one work, group work and project work.

The youth worker will be part of contextual safeguarding youth work team, line managed by Youth Service and directed in its work by the Contextual Safeguarding Hub to target identified hot spots and young people at risk. Our ambition is that through a provision of contextual safeguarding youth work approach, we will reduce young people’s risk to extra familial abuse outside of home whilst strengthening their resilience and ability to make informed and safe life choices.

The successful candidate will be required to work evenings, weekends and during school holidays.
