Senior Support Officer

The School Bursarial Service are a team of experienced finance and education specialists offering a client focused service covering operational finance support and strategic finance consultancy. The team have retained a large number of high performing maintained schools across the borough with buy back levels increasing. As a traded service we offer a range of flexible and comprehensive support options to schools to suit their needs. We work across all ages, phases and types of maintained education provision.
You will be working in partnership with many stakeholders. Partnership working is at the heart of our approach and we work closely with schools, internal services and departments, other LA’s, central government, education professionals, contractors and other stakeholders. We ensure continuous development so that our practice is of a high quality. We are currently making improvements to our service, strengthening the way we work to increase levels of financial sustainability and resilience within schools
You will be supporting schools in producing and interpreting both financial and non-financial performance information and data, modelling and planning for the impact of a number of risks and opportunities including all aspects of income and expenditure, and internal and external risk factors.
The School Bursarial Service (SBS) is committed to providing efficient, professional, flexible, front-line support from a team with diverse experience and a variety of qualifications. To maintain standards and capacity to support schools and the LA, we are looking for 2 experienced professionals with a strong finance background. You will design and deliver training, support the Planning and Resource leads in the development of the service, its systems and processes. You will provide front line support to schools also ensuring that relevant and up to date information about schools is available at all times, collecting, collating, maintaining, analysing and reporting on finance and performance data, and monitoring of outcomes in relation to schools’ financial performance.
