Redbridge Council provides a wide range of services to the local community, including children, young people and their families. The Housing Specialist Worker role will be an integral part of the Leaving Care Service.
The Council is currently looking for a Housing Specialist Worker who will be working with Children services and partner agencies to provide care experienced young people a comprehensive and proactive service.
The Housing Specialist Worker will work with various officers across the council and partner agencies and will manage placement and sign-up process of accommodation/tenancy for care experienced young people.
The post holder will demonstrate a strong ability to be innovative, dynamic and solutions focused, ensuring that all housing options are considered to prevent individuals from becoming homeless.

A candidate who:
• has good knowledge of all homelessness legislation as covered by the 1996 Housing Act
• has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• high level organisational skills, working as part of a team as well as independently, with high levels of attention to detail
• able to work at a strategic level, planning and prioritising resources to achieve deliverables
