Job introduction

Wayfield Avenue Resource Centre provides short-term care & accommodation for people who have a mental health need.

We are looking to appoint a Service Support Manager  to work within the residential unit to lead and manage a team of staff providing a range of services to meet the needs of people using our service.

This role is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy.

About the role

This is a real chance to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable people in these very challenging times. The team at Wayfield Avenue have a passion for supporting adults aged over 40 with severe and enduring mental health needs and believe the service is unique within the city. We are currently rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.  

The successful applicant will need to have experience in working within different care settings and be ready to further their career by joining the management team that is responsible for leading and supporting front-line staff .

You will have a key role in contributing towards the running of the service ensuring the efficient  use of resources that provides a high quality safe service to those in need. 

You will be responsible for managing the performance of staff through effective leadership, supervision and development. 

You will receive support and supervision as part of your work and be provided with training both on-line and on the job and can be supported to achieve a Level 5 Health & Social Care Qualification.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
