Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The Post
The commissioning, contracting and market management residential and Nursing team provides end-to-end commissioning. As one of the Placement Relationship Officers, you will be responsible for undertaking statutory annual reviews for anyone living in a care home as well as quality assurance visits across a portfolio of providers.
Reviews and monitoring visits are across a number of adult service user groups including older people, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and individuals with sensory needs.
The role also includes maintaining a relationship with our providers and offering on-going support when required. This role has a varied workflow and you may be required to get involved in areas that are directly linked to the councils wider strategic relationships.
The Person
You will have a good understanding of the Care Act and assessed needs and how needs can be met. You will be required to complete MCA’s and a knowledge of the CHC framework is desired. A good knowledge of CQC regulations is required in order to be able to undertake quality assurance visits. Previous Safeguarding experience would be desired.
Experience in a similar role within Adult Social Care or the provider sector-undertaking assessments for a local authority and completing quality assurance monitoring across a similar portfolio.
This is a large, lively and dynamic team so the ability to work as part of a team and support other colleagues is required. The team has a varied function overall and the ability to think differently, creatively and get ‘stuck in’ to pieces of work that may not be exactly a Placement Relationship Officer function is desirable. If you want, to gain more experience across the entire commissioning cycle this is the team for you!
A good communicator with a can do attitude who wants to gain different experiences and knowledge in a fast paced, busy team.
