Quality Assurance Officer
The London Borough of Croydon Professional Standards team play a critical role in safeguarding the rights of the most vulnerable members of our community. We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Safeguarding Quality Assurance Officer to join us and make an important contribution to this statutory work.

This is an exciting post with lots of opportunities to contribute across all aspects of the Safeguarding Unit’s work including chairing multi-agency meetings, quality assurance, audit and review, practice improvement, providing consultation, delivering training.

About the Role
The Professional Standards Team sits within Croydon Adult Social Care’s Safeguarding Unit. The role of the team is to help quality assure the work of social workers and safeguarding processes. Increasingly the team is playing a role in helping to quality assure the provider market, in line with duties under the Care Act 2014.
It is essential that you are a qualified social worker with HCPC registration
As such this role will entail:
- Chairing of safeguarding meetings (planning and conferences)
- Drawing up protection plans and risk assessments as Independent Chair
- Helping to develop and oversee safeguarding protection plans
- Quality Assurance (audits) of social work, trend mapping and reporting on themes to colleagues and senior management
- Quality meetings with the provider market
- Representing Adult Social Care at forums (such as MARAC, Risk Panels)
- Co-ordinating provider concerns process
- Attendance at any other meetings as required e.g. Out Of Borough PC meetings
- Due diligence checks for boroughs wanting to place in Croydon
- Working closely with Quality Team
The role will require the occasional presentation of safeguarding topics to staff teams internal to the Council as well as external partners and agencies
