The Post
We have a number of vacancies in Brent Libraries, both full and part time, working 36 and 21 hours per week, which includes working regular weekends and evenings.
Successful applicants will be working as part of vibrant team helping to deliver customer focussed services ranging from basic enquiries to assisting with delivering events and activities as well as work maintaining and promoting our book collections.
This is a valuable opportunity to join an exciting forward-looking library service, which serves as an important cornerstone in delivering public service within Brent.
Within the role of library services assistant, there are opportunities for training and personal development and to progress within the library service.
The Person
We are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for working in the library sector, the ability to promote the library service and provide excellent customer service to a wide range of diverse library users.
A passion for books and reading is important for us as encouraging more people to read is a key mission for us.
Experience in customer service is desirable and candidates should be confident in using ICT. Services for children and families are a cornerstone of our offer and we would especially welcome candidates who have an enthusiasm for working with these groups.
