The Post
We are looking for a Library Services Officer to manage the day to day running of one of our libraries. We need someone who can lead a team and help us provide excellent service to our library users. The post will be hands on, working with the public and supervising a team of assistants to deliver access to books, information, learning and events.
As well as ensuring the efficient running of the library your role will include planning for the future and working on strategy for the continual improvement of our library offer, reaching new users and embracing library innovations.
The Person
This post would suit a candidate with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motive staff. Good organisation, digital and administrative skills are also a must.
There is a customer facing element to the role so the candidate should enjoy working with the public and have experience of providing excellent customer service.
Most important is an enthusiasm for libraries and a commitment to ensuring Harlesden Library excels in providing the local community with all the benefits that libraries have to offer.
The post is currently based at our newly refurbed Harlesden Library, but the successful candidate will need to be able and prepared to be based at any library in the borough.
